Is India Going Down to Sri Lanka in this Test?
What in the world has happened to the Indian cricket team? Before the series, I thought an Indian whitewash was a slam dunk. Instead, I look at a 165-run deficit with Sri Lanka still having 5 wickets in hand, and I cannot see how India is going to perform a rescue act.
But for Dravid’s huge ton on the first day, India would have already been sunk. Amazing!
I plead guilty to mocking Sri Lanka throughout this year for their meaningless triumphs against Bangladesh. But this year has really been a turnaround year for them. Beating Pakistan and New Zealand at home and before that, a good performance in a truncated series in Pakistan. And no single person responsible. A true team effort.
I still hope India can save this match. But Sri Lanka has all the cards. A hundred runs more and India will have to work really hard to avoid losing by an innings.
err… Dhoni made a 100 too.
but, on a more serious note.. the batting looks alright, its the bowling that lacks teeth.

pRAFs is right…and I don’t think the angry kid might help too much, though it’s worth a gamble, considering how toothless the others have been…a better bet might be Ojha instead of Harbhajan…
Also, Dhoni really gave in to the Jayawardenes when he got Mishra to bowl a line outside leg stump and put fielders in the circle….poor tactics, TBH, from Dhoni…never really expected this from him….
Quite surprising that he didn’t try the 8-1 offside field and get Ishant to bowl outside off…it worked like a charm against Australia…

I wonder if its a lack of confidence; there seemed to be a lot of negative bowling tactics and not much attacking.
There’s something sick in the Indian Cricket Team atm. I think its the selectors…
You can’t expect to beat a beat any side, but especially a side with Dilshaan and M Jayawardene, with a bowling attack that is going about the field looking like their dog just died. As fantastic as the Indian batting line-up is, you can’t win with such imbalance, like they have the right arm looking like the Terminator’s and the left arm looking like Woody Allen’s!
Looks like they’ve taken you up on the Ishant bowling to outside off part at least, CT.
